
About this role
Tombras, a 450+ person, full-service, national advertising agency with a digital mindset, is seeking an Art Director Intern. You’ll join one of the top independent agencies in North America, recognized by AdAge, Adweek, Communication Arts, Fast Company, Forbes and Fortune. Expect a 9-week paid internship at $18 an hour, starting 6/2/26 and ending 7/31/26, with a maximum of 25 hours per week in Knoxville, TN. You’ll contribute to conceptual and visual development of projects alongside the Creative team. Collaborate to execute design direction and create digital assets for presentations and client deliverables.
Work with Creative Director, Art Directors, Copywriters and Designers in a flexible, dynamic and fast-paced environment. Research trends and assist in mood boards, sketches and presentation decks. Team players thrive in this highly creative agency setting.

Requirements
- Prior work or life experience in a relevant field, currently enrolled as a Senior in a Bachelor’s program, or a recent graduate with a major in Media, Marketing, Advertising, or similar field (a degree is not required)
- A passion for advertising and an eagerness to tell a story and a gift for making people see it
- Proficiency in a Mac environment and experience in Microsoft Excel, Google Docs and Keynote
- Work well as a team player in a flexible, dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Extremely organized and detail-oriented
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
- Work with the Creative team to contribute to the conceptual and visual development of various projects
- Collaborate with the Creative Director, Art Directors, Copywriters and Designers to execute design direction
- Create and edit digital assets for both internal presentations and client deliverables
- Research trends and assist in creating mood boards, sketches and presentation decks
- Handle other responsibilities and tasks as assigned
