About this role

The Senior Copywriter is responsible for using writing and referencing skills, conceptual ability, and strategic thinking to enhance the Agency’s copy offerings to the Client. This role demands a high level of professional craftsmanship and superior writing skills in healthcare advertising. They ensure all final products released are of superior quality.

Day-to-day involves working as a team with an art director to develop conceptual approaches meeting Client objectives. Responsibilities include accurately referencing and annotating all work, preparing submissions for Med/Legal and DDMAC approvals, and working closely with editors for accuracy. They follow jobs from startup into production and attend regular status meetings.

In the team environment, maintain positive, productive relationships with account team members, Editorial, and Traffic departments. Effectively present and communicate creative concepts internally and participate comfortably in client meetings. Keep supervisors up-to-date on all projects and contribute ideas in Client meetings.

Growth comes from developing a sound understanding of marketing/advertising strategy and market research to create test materials. Become familiar with medical and scientific information pertaining to Agency brands. Demonstrate ability to work in print media and understand other forms while handling multiple projects and deadlines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-4 years of healthcare advertising copywriting experience
  • Copywriter portfolio, or "spec" portfolio demonstrating strong creative abilities
  • Excellent oral communication and presentation skills
  • Knowledge, background and/or interest in science and medicine
